FAQ

General Questions

  • 1. What exactly does Connect Abroad Visas do?
Connect Abroad Visas is a Kenya-based global mobility advisory platform founded in 2017. We prepare African professionals, skilled workers, and graduates to pursue international opportunities through legal, ethical, and well-structured pathways. We do not sell visas or guarantee job placements — we provide honest guidance, document preparation, readiness coaching, and structured support through our GPRP and VVEPP programs.
  • 2. Who can use Connect Abroad Visas services?
Our services are open to any African professional, skilled worker, graduate, or student who is serious about pursuing legal international opportunities. We work with healthcare professionals, teachers, tradespeople, IT specialists, hospitality workers, farm workers, and many more. If you are motivated to move abroad legally and are willing to prepare properly, we can help.
  • 3. Where are you based and do you work with clients outside Kenya?
Our office is in Nairobi, Kenya, and we primarily serve clients across East Africa. We work with clients remotely across Africa, so you do not need to be in Nairobi to access our services. Consultations can be conducted online, and all document preparation support is provided digitally.
  • 4. How do I get started?
The best starting point is booking a free consultation with one of our advisors. We will review your profile, discuss your goals, and walk you through the most suitable pathway for your situation. You can book through our Contact page or reach us directly at info@connectabroadvisas.com.

Visa & Immigration

  • 5. Do you guarantee visa approval?
No — and any consultant or agency claiming guaranteed visa approval is being dishonest with you. Final decisions rest entirely with the relevant embassy, immigration authority, or employer. What we guarantee is thorough, honest preparation: the strongest possible application, complete documentation, and realistic expectation-setting throughout the process.
  • 6. How do I know which visa is right for me?
Our advisors conduct a structured eligibility assessment that reviews your qualifications, work experience, travel history, financial readiness, and destination goals. Based on this we recommend the most suitable and realistic pathway — whether that is a work permit, student visa, visit visa through VVEPP, or a longer-term residency route.
  • 7. Which countries do you support?
We currently support pathways to the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, UAE/Dubai, and the United States. These are the destinations with the strongest, most accessible legal pathways for African professionals at various career stages. We regularly review our country coverage as new opportunities emerge.
  • 8. How long does the visa process typically take?
Processing times vary considerably by country and visa type — from a few weeks to several months. UK Skilled Worker visas typically take 3–8 weeks from Kenya; Canadian Express Entry draws happen every few months; UAE employment visas can be fast if the employer is ready. We always provide a realistic timeline during your consultation and advise you to start well ahead of your intended travel date.
  • 9. Can I bring my family with me on a work visa?
In most cases, yes. The majority of work visa routes allow dependants — a spouse or partner and children under 18 — to accompany you. In many countries, dependants are also permitted to work. There are additional financial requirements and application fees for each dependant. We walk you through family planning as part of every pathway consultation.

GPRP & VVEPP Programs

  • 10. What is the GPRP and how is it different from a normal visa consultant?
The Global Pathways Readiness Program (GPRP) is a structured 6-stage framework — not a one-off visa application service. While most consultants focus on submitting your documents, GPRP focuses on building your readiness first: assessing your eligibility, improving your documentation, developing your career positioning, and giving you a strategic roadmap before any application is made. The goal is to shift migration from desperation to preparation.
  • 11. What is the GPRP e-Score?
The GPRP e-Score is a structured readiness score we calculate for each candidate based on four dimensions: documentation strength, language proficiency, financial preparedness, and pathway clarity. The score gives you and your advisor a clear, objective baseline to work from — and highlights exactly which areas need strengthening before you apply.
  • 12. What is VVEPP and can I work while on it?
The Visit Visa Exposure Pathways Program (VVEPP) is a structured program that helps candidates travel on visit visas for professional exposure — attending networking events, observing industry environments, and gaining firsthand market insight. Working of any kind (paid or unpaid) is strictly prohibited on a visit visa. VVEPP is about legal exposure and informed decision-making, not employment.
  • 13. How do I enrol in GPRP?
Enrolment begins with a free eligibility consultation. Our advisor reviews your profile against the GPRP framework, gives you an initial e-Score estimate, and outlines which stages are most relevant to your situation. From there, you are onboarded into the program with a personalised roadmap. Contact us to book your first session.

Documents & Process

  • 14. What documents will I typically need?
Requirements vary by destination and visa type, but the core documents usually include: a valid passport, academic and professional certificates, proof of employment or a job offer, financial evidence, a professional CV and cover letter, reference letters, and in some cases a medical certificate or police clearance. We provide every candidate with a personalised document checklist after their assessment.
  • 15. Do I need IELTS or another English test?
It depends on your destination and visa route. Many countries require proof of English proficiency — IELTS is the most widely accepted test, but alternatives like TOEFL, PTE, and OET are accepted for specific visa types. Candidates from Kenya and other English-medium education systems may be exempt from testing entirely. We assess your specific situation and advise the most efficient route.
  • 16. How do you help with document preparation?
We provide end-to-end document support: reviewing your existing documents for gaps or issues, helping you write or strengthen your CV and personal statement, advising on credential verification, guiding you through financial evidence requirements, and organising everything into a clean, complete application package. We also advise on official translations and notarisation where required.
  • 17. How do I protect myself from migration scams?
Be very cautious of anyone who promises guaranteed visas, guaranteed job offers abroad, or asks for large upfront payments without a written agreement. Legitimate advisors are transparent about fees, honest about success rates, and never claim to have special government connections. At Connect Abroad Visas, we are education-first — we tell you what is genuinely possible for your profile, not what you want to hear.
